Compress PDF

Choose a PDF and a target size, and get a copy that fits. The target starts at 1 MB, a common limit on job, visa and government portals. Change it to match your form, for example 100 or 200 KB for many exam portals. Your PDF stays on your device.

How it works

  1. Choose your PDF. It stays on your phone or computer.
  2. Set the target. Each page is redrawn as a picture and saved at the highest quality that keeps the whole file under it.
  3. Check the preview and the new size, then download the PDF.

Questions

Why does the target start at 1 MB?

1 MB is a frequent upload limit on job, visa and government portals, and most pages stay clear at that size. Exam portals often ask for 100 to 300 KB, so type your own limit in Target KB.

Will the text still be selectable?

No. Each page becomes a picture of the page, which is how the file gets this small. The text reads the same, but you cannot select, copy or search it.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The PDF is made inside your browser, so your files never leave your phone or computer.

How many pages are free?

PDFs of up to 5 pages compress for free, as often as you like. Longer PDFs need a one-time 24-hour compress PDF pass (US$1.99), which covers any number of PDFs for 24 hours.
