Questions
Will the text still be selectable?
No. Each page becomes a picture of the page, which is how the file gets this small. The text reads the same, but you cannot select, copy or search it.
Will it always get under 50 KB?
Usually, unless the PDF has many pages. The file stays under 50 × 1000 bytes, so it passes whether the portal counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes. If even the smallest version is too big, you still get it, and the page says how far over it is. Remove pages you do not need, or split the file, then try again.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The PDF is made inside your browser, so your files never leave your phone or computer.
How many pages are free?
PDFs of up to 5 pages compress for free, as often as you like. Longer PDFs need a one-time 24-hour compress PDF pass (US$1.99), which covers any number of PDFs for 24 hours.
