Questions
Will the PNG look better than the JPG?
No. PNG keeps exactly what the JPG already has, so it looks the same. It cannot undo earlier JPG compression.
Why is the PNG so much bigger?
PNG stores every pixel exactly, so photos take far more space than as JPG. If a form has a KB limit, keep the JPG and use the exact-KB resizer instead.
Does it make the background transparent?
No. A JPG has no transparency to keep, so the PNG has the same background as the photo.
Is it free?
